Promising beginnings
Already on our way to Fulda, we were in high spirits😊, as if everything was going to go our way. The plane was super punctual, we got our luggage after a few minutes of waiting as the first passengers, and we rented a car from our supplier at Frankfurt Airport without any queues (unlike many other companies, where the waiting time was well over an hour). And the best was yet to come – believe it or not, we were guided to our destination not by one, but two rainbows🌈 we encountered along the way. How could we not take all this as a good sign?
And what actually awaited us there?
The next day, after a great breakfast, we were ready for the official conference part, combined with an exhibition – featuring solutions from both EDAG’s portfolio and partner companies (alongside the host, around 20 companies were exhibiting, including brands such as Siemens, NVidia, and ABB).
EDAG is an engineering group with its roots in and strong associations with the automotive industry. However, over the last decade in particular, it has been diversifying and expanding its range of interests. At this year’s event, we learned about many elements dedicated to solutions for industrialization and products and services in the public sector.
Buzzword “Smart”
EDAG has recently specialized heavily in the development of products based on digital twins. Important elements in this puzzle are automation and robotics, including, above all, the implementation of AI in production processes. The concept of the “industrial metaverse” as a digital layer above production processes is currently one of the most important elements of the company’s strategy.
Over the following days, we observed how EDAG combines the ideas of Smart People, Smart Ecosystem, and Smart Energy into a single vision of a sustainable industry of the future. The company emphasizes the role of humans in cooperation with AI and automation, develops connected data ecosystems for industry and the public sector, and focuses on intelligent energy management. As a result, it is building a coherent model of industry based on the interaction of people, technology, and sustainable energy sources.
Added value
After hours, we were able to admire the magnificent landscape of the historic city of Fulda, which is famous for its beautiful monuments, including an early medieval Benedictine abbey from the 8th century, Baroque cathedrals, palaces, and gardens scattered throughout the old town center. We were very impressed!
Once again, thank you for the warm welcome and a solid dose of inspiration and knowledge about the latest trends in engineering. We will definitely use this knowledge to improve our services—who knows, maybe thanks to the conversations and connections made during this event, we will even be able to establish closer cooperation!
And if you are also thinking about supporting your Smart Mobility / Energy software projects, please contact us or visit our website.
Together we can do more for a sustainable future!
